OUR HONEYMOON
Jeffrey & I got married September 29, 2018. We planned to have a honeymoon & decided to go in February of 2020.
Jeffrey and I worked with a travel agent we met through a friend; she was awesome! Our honeymoon was a 10 day vacation that started off in Florida. Jeffrey was super into Harry Potter when he was younger, so his #1 request was to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We had been there years ago & were OBSESSED with the Butterbeer so, duh we got all the Butterbeer! They also had just recently added a new ride the previous year, that he was interested in what all the hype was about – Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motor Bike Adventure. The line was INSANE, but it was a very cool ride so, totally worth it! We also visited Disney World – The StarWars: Galaxy’s Edge. He built his own light saber which was the cherry on top to visiting the parks.
After being there for a few days, our next adventure was to Uber down to Port Canaveral and board our cruise! This is what I was looking forward to most! This was our first time being on a cruise & let me tell you, it was worth every penny! We cruised through Royal Caribbean & they did not disappoint. The ship was clean, the staff was super friendly & the food was bomb! We cruised for 7 days. Out first stop was the Bahamas “Perfect Day CocoCay.” We ported there & just spent the day laying out in the sun, taking it all in. Coming from Michigan’s cold temperatures & dreary weather, it was such a treat to be laying in the sun, in a bathing suit by the ocean. Our next stop was Costa Maya, but unfortunately couldn’t port because the winds were too high. So instead, we enjoyed laying out by the pool on the top deck, it was perfection!
We cruised to our next stop which was Honduras. Jeffrey reserved a private bungalow for us to spend the day at. We had our own little bungalow that came with endless drinks, such a pretty view & delicious surf & turf. Our last stop was Cozumel, we ported there for the day & visited Mayan crystal caves and went swimming in a hidden cenote sinkhole. The cenote is a natural watering hole, nestled in a subterranean cave, and is part of a underground network of rivers and caves that remain unexplored. When we got to the location, they had us rinse off any oils or chemicals we had on us before entering the spring water; they didn’t want us contaminating the springs with harsh chemicals. We got life jackets and floated through the springs while the tour guide explained the history behind the caves. This was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed the experience & am happy I did it!
Needless to say, our honeymoon was a trip of a lifetime & we can not wait to cruise again in 2021!
