QUICK 5 INGREDIENT GUACAMOLE WITH A SMOKY KICK

Enjoy this guacamole with some crunchy tortilla chips served along side with a tasty Mexican dish! It’s creamy and has a smoky flavor that leaves you with a little kick!

I’m always switching up the way I make my guacamole. I love to experiment and make different versions of it. This latest version of guac I came across has a smoky flavor and leaves you with a nice kick. If you’re not a spice lover, you could completely omit the adobo peppers or you could just use half the amount to take it down a notch.

I love to eat guac, obviously, with tortilla chips. But I also love to add it to a quesadilla, taco, burrito or even on top of a salad. It adds some extra creaminess and flavor!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR MY 5 INGREDIENT GUACAMOLE

Ripe avocados! Always use ripe avocados when making guacamole. When looking for the perfect avocados, there are a couple things I look for. First, the color. It should be a dark green to almost black. If you slightly squeeze the avocado, it should be firm but also have some give. If it feels really soft, it’s probably not good. Lastly, I will peel back the stem or cap just enough to see what color the avocado is. If it is green, it’s good!

For the greek yogurt, I usually have plain 2% greek yogurt on hand, so that is what I use. Any plain yogurt will work for this guac. It makes it creamy.

The chipotle peppers in adobo sauce are the stars of the show in this guacamole! If you’ve never had them, now is your time! They definitely have some kick to them but the flavor they add to the guacamole is unreal!

For the onion, I like to use red onion. I know it’s got a strong flavor but it does go good in guac.

TIPS

Sometimes I don’t have the best luck finding ripe avocados when I go to the grocery store. So if I know I will be making guacamole later in the week, I will get avocados that aren’t completely ripe yet so that way, when I do need them, they’re perfectly ripe.

If you don’t love spice, you could use half the amount of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce or completely omit. Instead you could add in 1-2 tbsp of your favorite salsa.

Plain tortilla chips are my favorite thing to eat with guacamole. But I do love some loaded nachos topped with this guacamole. It’s SO good!
